{Rebekah Soccer 2012}

Rebekah has had another AMAZING soccer season!  She is really really REALLY fun to watch!  She has scored every game, usually multiple times in a game.  Most of the time she is the only one on her team who scores in a game.  She is tiny but she is mighty.

Just trotting to position.  I did not get any good action shots.  Forgive me.

Working the ball

Throw in.  (It is rare that she did a trow in, usually they do not have her throwing in the ball...
and I managed to get a shot of it!)

She has had a great season.  She loves this sport, and we love watching her!!

{Jonah Soccer 2012}

Soccer 2012 is in full swing.  Jonah's continues to love playing this game!

This shot results in the following...

Yup, that is a ball in the NET!

Which always makes him do this little dance all the way back to the center line.  He has done this dance a lot this season!  Congrats on a great season Jonah!!

{Fall Sports}

Fall is a busy sport season around here.  This season has been very exciting and brought on a bunch of Heninger Firsts:

Jonah got the game ball at the first game in soccer.  No one else has ever gotten the game ball at the first game (for any sport!)!  Good Job Jonah!

He has also had a great cross country season.  He came in 3rd place at the last two meets.  His mile time was 5:53!  He's fast and really fun to watch!

Rebekah is our next "first" with an amazing FIVE goals in one game!  Yup, you read that right.  She is super fast on the soccer field and has figured out how to really score!  Good Job Rebekah!

Hannah is our next "first" with her tournament ending eviction from the game!  YUP she fouled out of water polo!  I think she is the first varsity girl to foul out this year, I am not even sure any varsity girls fouled out last year.  Way to be the first Heninger to foul out of a game!

Hannah has the ball in her hand in this picture...
Jacob is our last "first". It is not sport related, but equally huge.  He's the first Heninger to earn 12 merit badges! His pile of badges at the Court of Honor was HUGE.  He's fulfilled all the requirements for the Star, except time.  (He was a busy boy this summer!)  He is just waiting until January to be awarded that!  At this rate it won't be long and we'll be doing an Eagle project around here!

He also ran on the Cross Country team at his middle school this year.   He loves to run with his friends and always finishes with his characteristic smile on his face!

All in all we are well into the fall season and have enjoyed it all!!!

{Track}

Jacob tried a new sport this year...Track.

He tried hurdles for the first time in his life and LOVES it!

This picture is just mid race.

He also runs the 100meter which for those of you who don't know is a killer hard race.  It is not short enough to sprint, but too short for a long distance pace.  It is a hard race and he finishes each race with a smile on his face.  Typical Jacob style.  He is doing so well and we love to watch him run.
PS Thank you Raimi for the pics!!!

{Water Polo}

Water Polo season is almost over and somehow I have neglected to post about it!

 This is Hannah's "official" picture.  I have to admit, when Hannah asked if we wanted to have these taken I thought, "I don't want a picture of you standing there in a swimsuit holding a polo ball...creepy!"

But she wanted them, and got them.  I admit it, I was wrong.  I think her "official" picture is darling!

My cute girl!

She just threw the ball here.

 Guarding...

I did not take any of these pictures...grateful we have them though.  A kind parent took them for us.  I believe most of the pictures are from the Reno tournament in September.

Good Job an another fine season Hannah!

{CC Jonah style}

Just as Jacob's Cross Country season came to an end Jonah's began.  He is doing well and loves it!

In his first meet he took 18th place out of 118 kids.  We were pretty happy, but Jonah was pretty upset he did not get a medal.
  Here he is with his ribbon.

Here he is at the end of the race in his first meet.  I love that he has no feet on the ground!

Meet #2: With a time of 6:56 Jonah took 13th place!  He was much happier with this because....

He got a MEDAL!  Yes even with the boys it is all about the bling!

Jonah is off to a great start, and a great running career!  Good job Jonah!!

NOTE:  Jonah has run one more meet since I wrote this post - he came in 9th place!  He is just cruising up the ranks.  He said today at dinner - "I think I just might be cut out for running."  Mom and dad both agree with that statement Jonah!

{GOOOOOAAAAAAL!}

Jonah is loving this soccer season too!  He missed his first game for the airshow, but showed up to P-L-A-Y this week!  His team did not do so hot, but he managed to get the only point on the board!  Good Job Jonah!

Working hard during the game.

Check out his face, he is concentrating hard!  He loves this game!

{Cross Country}

Cross Country season has hit us!  With Jacob's move to Middle School, came and increase to his distance.  He is running 1.5 miles this year.  He is doing great.  He has a very steady pace, and I really enjoy watching him and cheering him on along the route.

 Jacob is running with his friend Tanner.  Jacob has really enjoyed running with Tanner this year.  My friend Raimi (Tanner's mom) took these pics for me.  (Huge thank you to her, since I neglected to bring my camera!)  I love how she got everyone mid-air in this shot!

Here Jacob is about to cross the finish line!  Good Job Jacob!  I am so proud.  I am sure you will have a great CC year!

GO COUGARS

I think people (by people I mean the boys) are ready for some football.  I walked into my kitchen the other day to find this.

This lovely candy artwork left on the counter was compliments of Jacob.

GO COUGARS!!!!!

{Melissa and Millie}

Last Saturday I went to Melissa's horse show. It was so fun! I was struck by how quiet the whole venue is. It was so calm, and peaceful. I think it is louder at a golf tournament!
Anyway, the weather was FINALLY beautiful! It was warm and breezy. I just loved being outside and enjoying the show.

Here is Melissa Brandley on Millie waiting for her time in the ring.

I wanted you to see how BIG Millie really is. She is a really BIG horse. (Melissa really loves her too!)

OK, so I know I am not an expert photographer. I also had no previous experience trying to time the jumps. I did not get any great shots, but thought I would show you a few of Melissa jumping.
Melissa did a great job and I had a blast!

{HS Sections Meet}

15 months ago Hannah had not swam in a single race. On a whim she decided to try out the swim team. Fast forward to May 13, 2010 she competed in the HS Sections swim meet. The meet was last week and encompassed the best of the swimmers from Napa to Nevada Union. You had to have a qualifying time to compete and Hannah was among the swimmers!

Pre swim game face...

Jumping off the block...
Coming in at the end of the race

Hannah swam her personal best time in the 100! What a way to end the year! Way to go Hannah!! We are all so proud of all your achievements!

She is SOOO proud of it. She has worked hard and is THRILLED to be able to swim in the Sections Meet!
Congrats Hannah! I am so happy for your achievement! Swim to Win BABY!
