{Pumpkin Patch}

The kids had a random day off during the month of October and we headed out to the pumpkin patch

Rebekah, Jacob, Jonah

In the corn maze.  Jonah was a great Navigator.  Rebekah did NOT want to do this.  So she went with a friend to the slides.

Jonah insisted on trying the slides...he was disappointed.  He said he made the right choice going in the maze.

It was a fun day at the patch!

{New Normal}

I found this picture on the camera.  It was taken after church.
There was nothing super special about this day, just a typical Sunday.

However, it flooded my mind with so many thoughts.
With Hannah gone our family has had to adjust to a new normal.
It is NOT easy.
We miss her like nuts.
We sure miss her vibrant spirit and energy around here.

Someday, this quiet house will seem normal...just not yet.

{Mother's day}

Mother's day 2012 was the best ever!  I was spoiled rotten!!!
 Richard and the kids really out did themselves this year.

After breakfast in bed and presents I was told I need to see something outside.
I opened the front door to this:

 Yep, Hannah, Jacob, and Rebekah decorated the driveway!  Jonah decided not to help because he had already made me a present!  So funny.
(It was a shrinky dink key chain caricature of me, vacuuming...according to him my favorite thing to do.)

The kids wrote some really sweet things for me!!!  Of the "10 reasons why we love our mom"  I think "she can pick great things at the $1store" has got to be the funniest!  I have a talent ya know!

The whole day was a lot of fun.  We laughed, played, and I did not cook a single thing or do a single dish!!  What a great day!

Me and the kids, straight from bed, in all our glory!

Thanks for making it one of the best mother's day I have ever had!!

{Easter}

Easter 2012 had all the same fun Heninger family traditions...

The Spencers came and spent the weekend with us.  It was a blast!  Here are the kids early Easter morning waiting to come downstairs!  (Jonah, Jacob, Alec, Rebekah, and Ella) Hannah was too cool to have her picture taken.  Boo.

It was hard to get any pics during the hunt...they were all running full speed all around the room1

after church the girlies played hopscotch

This pic was from Saturday, I forgot to add it to that post.  It is Brady and Jacob with the Easter Bunny.

It was a great weekend spent celebrating Easter the best way possible, with family!
Thank you Spencers for coming here to spend the weekend with us!!

{Egg Hunt}

We went to the annual egg hunt at Chick-fil-a, and had a blast!!

Mandy, Ivy and Brady

Jacob

The sod in the parking lot, getting ready for Rebekah's age group..

Rebekah is in the pink hoodie, right after the countdown...

Rebekah, Jacob, and Jonah showing what they won!
Every year we are so impressed with the prizes!  This year our prizes included a basketball, Disney plush, chalk, and a LOT of bouncy balls!

Mandy, Richard, me, Jacob, and Jonah

Thanks Chick-fil-a for a great Saturday morning!  We love the prizes and the coupons for free food!
(It is sort of like Christmas!)
We have lots of coupons so we'll be seeing you quite a bit!

{Easter FHE}

We had our Easter FHE tonight.  We had a great lesson on the Savior and His resurrection.
It is great to see how much the kids really know, and it is fun to give a "deeper" lesson!

For treats we made the empty tomb.  I found this idea here
(I slightly adapted the treats to fit my kids tastes)

It was a really fun evening!
We only wish Hannah were here and not in Idaho!!

Happy Easter!

{St. Patrick's Day Fun}

St. Patrick's day came, and went with all the usual festivities!

Lucky visited, left notes...

pots of gold,

festive decor,

hid gold coins all over downstairs for the kids to find,

avoided getting caught in Rebekah's trap,

or Jonahs,

turned the toilet water green, the pancakes green and the milk green,

brought smiles to all the kids faces (Jonah)

(Jonah and Jacob)

(Sorry Hannah and Rebekah were camera shy...turkeys!)
and finally left Lucky Charms!

All in all we had a great morning.
It was fun, and since this year fell on a Saturday we got to spend it with Hannah!  FUN!!!!!
