The traditional re-enactment of the nativity. (Pictured:Jonah, Jacob, Rebekah, and Hannah.) As you can see everyone is really happy because it is Christmas Eve... but Jonah. He did NOT want to be Joseph...or a Shepherd...or the Donkey. He mostly did not want to wear the costume. Hannah found herself taking over a new roll this year...the donkey. It was very fun.
I am not sure it is very reverent, but it was a good time.
The Pinata: Jacob Broke the Pinata this year! Way to go Jacob. He was very proud of his mad skill. The kids spend a lot of time dividing the loot evenly. The best line of the night happened during this task. Jacob told Jonah who was upset about something, "None of this will matter to you in the morning...when you have a TON of presents."
My least favorite thing about Christmas is this. The post present MESS. Please tell me that your living room looks like a war zone when it is all done too...it was especially bad this year.
All in all we were very blessed with a nice Christmas.

I love the photos of the kids all dressed up to act out the Christmas story. Yes, our home also looks like a war zone after the frenzy of Christmas morning and it takes a day or two to completely get things back into order.
Wow, Santa really loves you guys and wants to protect from chapped lips. Loved the nativity play. Remind me to tell you about when my family did it when I was a kid and baby Jesus made his entrance by slide. Not so reverent.
