What kind of hippie school do you go to? No costumes for Halloween, but 60's day is ok? I don't quite follow the logic, but your kids looked adorable :)
Oh, you'll love this. This shows how, ahem, odd I was in HS. For my 60s day I wore a pair of lederhosen my mom got in the 60s. I wanted to be authentic. I don't think this was quite the look people were expecting, but that's me. If I feel like it I'll wear 60s lederhosen or maybe I won't dot an i or a j.
