ALOHA

Richard and I have returned from the best vacation I have EVER taken. We spent 6 glorious days in Maui. What a blast! Even though we did not have perfect weather we had an amazing time. Any bad day in paradise beats a day at home eh?

This is me "Laying out". It was chilly! But it was still fun.

There are so many things that we loved that it is hard to condense to just a few. One thing we loved is that it seemed that all the locals played the Ukulele. Wherever we went there seemed to be someone playing and singing. One man, (I wish I had a picture) was totally awesome. He was the LARGEST man I have ever seen. We nicknamed him "tiny". Our first night he was out roaming the resort playing and singing for people out at the pool. It was lovely and added so much to the experience.

The Luau. Wow! It lived up to all our expectations. It was a beautiful evening. The show was amazing, and filled with the history of Hawaii and the hula dance. So great!

I affectionately call this one that I took "pervert Richard"

This is me with the Tiki.

These pictures are of the hotel lobby. Paradise is so cool.
This is the view from our room. Even the "island view" is not a bad thing. I really just want to go back!

We snorkeled daily at Black Rock. We saw just about everything in Finding Nemo, including Crush and Squirt! (For those who are not so up to date on Disney flicks, that would be HUGE sea turtles. ) I literally felt like I was in a life size aquarium. It was so cool.
Warren and Annabelles was a great show. It is part comedy part slight of hand magic. We laughed the night away. We were in the "hot seat", getting to be "helpers" with the show. The show had a TV theme and all the men in the hot seats were named as members of the cast from The Andy Griffith Show. Richard was OTIS, The town Drunk! We laughed at that...he was just glad he was not Goober or Gomer. His show was super cool. We are still trying to figure some tricks out...we never will.

When it was time to go, Richard spelled this out with our Leis. It was so sad to leave.
A HUGE THANK YOU to Richard's sister Elsie Garner for taking a week off of work and spending two weekends here so that we could go. THANKS! We love you!

We almost went to Hawaii this year. At the time of planning we didn't know I would be 8 months prego! Glad we opted out. But I'm still insanely jealous! We went to Maui 2 years ago and it was absolutely GORGEOUS! A true paradise. Good for you two love birds for taking off.

Who wouldn't have a blast and be taken good care of by Aunt Elsie?

I am so glad you guys had such a fabulous time! I also think the pervert Richard photo is hilarious! I have a similar picture with two coconut girls holding Scott when he was 3 months old. It looked like Richard enjoyed the picture much more than baby Scott did!

I am so jealous! I think... hope.... I'm going in August. A friend just invited me yesterday, so I'm hoping I can make it happen. It will be my first time. It looks so great, I may just move there!

Looks like an awesome trip. Did you stay @ the Westin maui? It looks just like where John & I stayed.
