Run Jacob Run!

Jacob had his first cross country meet yesterday. (Thank you Uncle Eric for planting the seed! He uses your techniques that you taught him in Texas!) It was actually quite fun. I was surprised at how fast it was over. At the elementary school level the race is only 1 mile long. Before we knew it the race was over!

Jacob was really anxious before the meet. He set the stopwatch on his watch so that he would know exactly how he did. (My little engineer already showing his colors..) He wants to shave about 10 seconds off his time by his next meet. I don't run, so I have no clue if that is an attainable goal. He said he was not running his hardest at all, so I think he can do it. He is trying to talk his dad into running one mile with him nightly...you know for practice. It would be good for both of them. Below are a few pictures.

This is right after the gun!

Here he is crossing the finish line! GREAT JOB!!

Here he is after the race holding his ribbon!

I have to admit. The whole time at the meet I had Forrest Gump on the brain. Only I was thinking "Run Jacob Run".

Great Job Jacob!

Great job Jacob!!!!! We need more runners in the family. Keep it up and we will run a race together someday. I will be watching for more updates on your future runs.
